For legal reasons, there are materials that we are unable to take away in a skip. These include: gas bottles, chemicals and solvents, batteries, clinical waste (such as syringes, soiled dressings, medicine bottles), liquids (such as oil) and asbestos.
The skip should be filled no higher than the height of the sides and should be level loaded in order for us to be able to transport the skip safely to our Materials Recycling Facility.
If your skip is to be placed on the public highway you will need a permit from the council. Driveway do not count as public highways as they are private land. The cost of a permit varies, dependant on your county council and the duration of hire.
